In the last few weeks we really noticed that our 3 chickens have slowly stopped laying eggs and we wondered if that may be due to the reduced daylight. So we installed a light in the coop and discovered the true reasons: 2 out of the 3 are molting. Goldie, our brown chicken has only 1 tail feather left.
According to several sources on the internet this may take up to 3 months. Hopefully, the younger hens start laying soon!
Vielleicht legen ja die kleinen Hühner bald!

Does the light affect them?

Apparently it does. They slow down with the egg production if the day light gets shorter. Probably because they need more energy to stay warm.
